Today's assignment: Find a website source! BUT...it has to be an expert source. If it's a .com, be sure you check with a teacher to make sure it's okay! These are the three methods I recommend for finding a web site:
Webpath Express on Destiny (Go to the catalog and click on Webpath Express, on the left below "Library Search.")
An advanced search on Google
External website sources from the Wikipedia article (either from footnotes or sources at the bottom of the article)
Once you find an expert site, you'll need to add it to your works cited list on Noodletools. If there is no author, leave it blank. Remember that the title of the page of the website, the name of the website, and the URL are all different things. The title of the page is usually in the blue bar at the top of Internet Explorer. The name of the website should not have a www or a .com, etc. The URL can be pasted from the address bar, but note that Noodletools already puts the http:// in the blank.
Once you have a print source (book), database source, and a website you are free to find other sources of your choosing. I would shoot for at least five total, and there should be a variety of types.
First, from the Cross Timbers' library home page, you should have clicked on "Electronic Resources" and entered our school username and password.
That should have taken you to a "cheat sheet" list of databases with their respective usernames and passwords.
I recommend Gale and Encyclopedia Britannica.
Once you find a good source, go back to Noodletools and select the type of source from the drop down menu. It should be pretty easy from there. Let me know if you need help!
Lastly, go back to your wiki page and post a reflection on how things are going so far. Remember to include a positive comment! :)
